Perfumed

Abu Eesa's oerfumeIt is narrated in the Muṣannaf of Ibn Abi Shaybah on the authority of Abu Qilābah (raḥimahullāh) that the neighbours of ‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘Abbās (raḍyAllāhu ‘anhumā) would always know when he had left his home and what route he was taking to the Masjid because of the beautiful scent he was wearing that would be left in his wake.

.

perfume1Sayyidinā ‘Umar (raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu) used to say that wearing a perfume is a charity in the same manner because of the happiness it can bring to others just by smelling it.

.

perfume3The Companions would smile and feel good every time they came even close to the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) let alone touch his blessed hand which would smell beyond beautiful, like “as if it had just been taken out of the perfume seller’s bag” (Muslim).

.

It’s always wonderful meeting friends after some time has gone by. Big smiles, salams and hugs. And it’s always a bonus when they smell heavenly too as per the Sunnah.

.

happy accornThat always elicits a double smile and often an extra du‘ā from me lads, so remember that next time! Always try your best to *yourself* be the man that ladies are told their man could smell like. In a halal way of course.  🙂
